Chapter9, The sword of light

Jack and Annie pulled out the Sword of Light difficulty from the bottom of the cove.

They burst into the air with the sword.

They 4 all swum to the rocky island.

Jack and Annie got out of the water and pulled it up onto the rocks.

They decided to get it to Merlin before nightfall.

But the waves got rough so pushed away Kathleen and Teddy from the rocky island.

Jack and Annie tried to help them but the seal's skin was so slippery.

Suddenly the land was moving. It was a giant sea serpent's body.

 

Chapter10, The Ancient Question

The giant sea serpent had scaly green skin and bright yellow eyes.
Teddy and Kathleen couldn't help Jack and Annie because they were stuck in their seal.
The serpent with the ancient hissed voice gave a question to Jack and Annie.
"What is the purpose of the sword?"
Jack couldn't find the answer but when he stared at the wondrous sword, his mind became clear.
He remembered Merlin's rhyme, "answer a question with love, not fear."
Finally, Jack answered, "the purpose of the sword is peace!"
