MTH 35-1. Four New Magicians
Jack and Annie were going to an ice cream truck.
But the Frog Creek Woods was super quiet so they noticed it was a sign.
They headed to Woods, there was the tree house on the tallest oak.
There was a slim book gave by Morgan and a folded piece of paper gave by Merlin in the tree house.
The title of the guide book was "Paris World's Fair".
The paper said, "an evil sorcerer is plotting to steal the secrets of four magicians at the Paris World's Fair."
So they had to find them, warn them, and learn their secrets for Merlin.
The four magicians were the magician of sound, light, the invisible, iron.
Jack was curious why do powerful magicians need our help.
Jack and Annie left for the Paris World's Fair with the magic rhyme book gave by Teddy and Kathleen.
MTH 35-2. A living encyclopedia
Jack and Annie were wearing medieval clothes and the tree house landed in a park.
They could see the Eiffel Tower in the distance.
Their guide book said the world's fair was below the Eiffel tower.
They got out of there and headed to the fair.
Their ice cream money was in Annie's pocket and she changed them into Franch coins.
There were many countries people at the fair.
While they stood in line waiting to buy tickets and Jack read their guide book.
'The fair exhibited science and technology from all over the globe.'
They bought two tickets and walked through the gate into the 1889 Paris Word's Fair.
MTH 35-3. Magic? Magicians?
Jack and Annie decided to ride on a little train to look around everything.
They looked for magic or magicians but they couldn't.
The train passed by Egypt, African, Africa, a Muslim mosque, a Japanese garden, Venus.
It stopped by the Eiffel Tower that was built for this World's Fair.
The passengers, Jack, and Annie climbed off the train.
There were many people but no one looked like an evil sorcerer or a magician.
Jack and Annie found a sign, "Telephone: A new invention by Alexander Graham Bell."
They looked for Alexander Graham Bell but he read the invitation given by a strange man and left.
The strange man went to the Hall of Machines.
Jack and Annie headed there.
MTH 35-4. Wizard of Menlo Park
Annie bought two tickets for the Hall of Machines.
Their guide book said there are many kinds of machines from all over the world in there.
They went upstairs so that could look around everything.
They got to know that there was a booth of Thomas Alva Edison from Menlo Park, New Jersey below them.
There was a lightbulb that Edison invented ten years ago in the booth.
Jack and Annie found out the Magician of Light was Edison.
Jack asked Henri who was a commentator in the booth where is Edison.
Henri said Edison was invited to a party and he left.
And Henri said the messenger delivered the invitation wore a cloak and he went to the Pasteur Institute.
Jack and Annie left the Edison exhibit in haste.
MTH 35-5. Hellooo?
Jack and Annie rode a carriage to go to the Pasteur Institute.
The coachman told them the Pasteur Institue is a laboratory for finding cures for diseases.
They made a plan to be ready for meeting an evil sorcerer at the institute.
They memorized one of the rhymes not used in Teddy and Kathleen's book so that say it without having to look in the book.
The rhyme was "Make something Disappear."
And the carriage arrived at the Pasteur Institute.
It looked like a spooky mansion.
Jack and Annie tried to enter the doors but nothing opened.
Suddenly a whispery voice came from behind them. "Hellooo?"
MTH 35-6. Invisible Enemies
A dark figure was a night watchman.
The institute was closed for the night.
He said Dr. Pasteur is the world's foremost medical researcher of Microbes.
Jack and Annie guessed Dr. Pasteur was the Magician of the Invisible because Microbes are invisible to the eye.
The watchman told them Dr. Pasteur just left after receiving an invitation and went to the Eiffel Tower by ten p.m.
They missed him this time as well.
They had to get to the Eiffel Tower by ten p.m. but they couldn't take any carriage.
Just Then, two riders who were an odd-looking couple came to them and gave a rent their bicycle.
They rode it and started to find a way to the Eiffel Tower but they couldn't.
Annie thought of an idea that uses their magic rhyme - "spin into the air."
MTH 35-7. Start Pedaling!
The bicycle flew by the magic rhyme.
Jack and Anniepedaled hard and they could reach the Eiffel Tower soon.
They left the bike under the tower as they promised.
The guard stood under the tall arches told them there would be a private party at the top of the tower.
The guests were Mr. Tomas Edison, Dr. Louis Pasteur, and Alexander Graham Bell but anyone didn't know who is the fourth guest.
And the elevators were all shut down for the night, and there were 1,652 steps to the top of the tower.
So they decided to use another rhyme, "Turn into Ducks."
They started up the 1,652 steps.
MTH 35-8. Secrets
Jack and Annie went the stairs to the very top of the tower over and over.
When they reached around there, heard piano music.
The piano music was coming from a small apartment on the terrace.
There were four men in there include a trim bearded man who was playing the piano.
Their research book said at the very top of the tower is the apartment of Gustave Eiffel.
A person who was playing the piano was Gustave, and he was the fourth magician, the magician of Iron.
Annie knocked on the door of the apartment and Mr. Eiffel opened it.
He welcomed Jack and Annie and introduce the four men to them.
They were Dr. Louis Pasteur, Mr. Alexander Graham Bell, Mr. Thomas Alva Edison.
Annie explained to them an evil sorcerer wanted to steal the secrets of their magic.
And also she asked them what is their secrets.
Mr. Eiffel answered Taste for adventure, love of work, and responsibility.
Dr. Pasteur answered chance favors the prepared mind.
Mr. Edison answered Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration.
Mr. Bell answered when one door closes, another door opens.
Just then, someone knocked on the door loudly.
MTH 35-9. The Sorcerer
Jack objected to open the door but Mr. Eiffel opened it.
There was a person in a long cloak.
Jack said the magic rhyme of one line to disappear the person but Annie didn't finish it.
The person in a log cloak was Merlin, not the evil sorcerer.
Merline made Jack and Annie use all their powers of thinking and courage with that challenge.
So Jack and Annie could meet four remarkable men together all at once and got their four secrets.
Merlin said, you not only learned the four secrets but you lived each of them as well.
Annie said the rest of the magic rhyme, and Merlin was disappeared.
And the new magicians came back to life.
Jack, Annie, and the four men watched beautiful Paris on the terrace.
They said goodbye to each other and Jack and Annie climbed down the 1,652 steps of the Eiffel Tower.
MTH 35-10. Good Night, Magicians!
It was much easier walking down the steps.
The two-seater bicycle was gone.
The World's Fair had ended.
Jack and Annie came to the tree house.
Spotlight beam shined from Eiffel tower.
They said the magic spell and returned to the Frog Creek Woods.
No time at all had passed in Frog Creek.
Jack pulled the guide book, and kept the magic rhyme book.
They had three magic rhymes left.
Annie noticed the two people who lent their bicycle were Teddy and Kathleen.
They ran to the ice cream truck.
